ACKNOWLEDGEMENTSFY 2005 GRANT AWARDS The Governing Council Chair and Executive Board gratefully acknowledge the W. K. Kellogg Foundation and the Lumina Foundation for Education for their recent funding of $150,000 and $25,000 respectively, to the National Institute for Native Leadership in Higher Education. Through support of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation and the Lumina Foundation for Education's visionary Native American Higher Education initiatives, NINLHE is continuing to provide Institute participants with a program that provides professional training and development, networking with colleagues, cultural connection and spiritual renewal — a unique blend of opportunities that is, as yet, unavailable from any other higher education association. We thank the W. K. Kellogg Foundation and the Lumina Foundation for Education for their recent funding and most especially for their continued support of the National Institute for Native Leadership in Higher Education through the years.
FUNDRAISING The Governing Council Chair and Executive Board gratefully acknowledge the Mohegan Tribe for their generous contribution of $10,000 to support NINLHE's fundraising efforts in 2006. The Tribe's friendship and expression of confidence in NINLHE's mission is greatly appreciated. We have a personal appreciation for the Tribe's interest in NINLHE's accomplishments in training educators who can be role models and mentors for our Native students. We look forward to building a strong partnership between NINLHE and the Mohegan Tribe, so that together we may continue to improve educational opportunities of thousands of Native American college students across the U.S. and Canada. FOUNDATION SPONSOR ($10,000) We once again thank the Lumina Foundation for Education for their sponsorship towards the 2008 Annual National Institute, August 3-7, 2008, Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, Santa Ana Pueblo, NM. We thank the Lumina Foundation for Education for their sponsorship towards the 2007 Annual National Institute, August 5-9, 2007, Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, Santa Ana Pueblo, NM. SPONSORS ($5,000) We thank our lifelong Sponsors, the University of New Mexico, the University of Washington, Stanford University, and Dartmouth College, for their continued support as Sponsors through the past 15 years. INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERS ($3,000) We thank Buffalo State College, Buffalo, NY; Yale University, New Haven, CT; University of Missouri, Columbia, MO; and University of North Texas, Denton, TX, who are Institutional Members. Their partnerships with NINLHE allow for that much greater outreach potential in relation to our core mission. WHY GIVE The support that NINLHE receives from individuals, sponsors, institutional members, corporations, and foundations, confirms that NINLHE is, indeed, an organization where people are making a difference for Native American students across the United States and Canada. Your generosity strengthens every aspect of our programs that strengthen staff and faculty so that the Native American students they serve may thrive and achieve their educational goals. The benefits will continue to grow as NINLHE gets more resources. |
